The Paper Players

We are playing Tic-Tac-Toe at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ this week...YAY!!

I chose the third vertical row: Birthday card, Sequins and a Paper Clip:
I love using double-sided stacks, the papers are so nicely coordinated the cards almost come together by themselves.Papers - From the ColoBok Signature "Wild Indigo" stack.
Ribbon  - Organza in a shimmery brown shade.
Flower - I made the flower by fussy cutting from another floral sheet in this stack, added a blue brad to the center.
Banner - Cut on the Explore. I colored a regular paper clip with a brown ink marker.
Sequins - The crystal clear sequins are at the bottom right hand corner
Sentiment -  They are VERVE stamps from the "Wishing You" set of ten stamps. Using these stamps for the first time and LOVE the way they stamp, soooo crisp and clean.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This card I made using this week's sketches at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/ .
Image: Is computer-generated, I typed the sentiment with the "Z" for the "S". I added a    screw brad to his eye...like he needs to be scarier, right!?
Papers - Are all from single sheets in my Scrap Box.
Embossing - I used a CB "Stars" folder to emboss the dark background
Sign - Is a computer download, attached with another screw Brad.
Trim - Is from a collection of assorted cotton trims. I liked the way this one laid flat, it almost looks like a shoelace...hummm, shoelace embellies, anyone?

Mojo Monday

Julee, this week, at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ has provided a great sketch that lends itself to a load of possibilities. I never seem to have enough Get Well cards and I think this sketch is just right for one.
Papers - DCWV "Fiesta Forever" stack with white satin ribbon border between them.
Sentiment - Is from the CTMH acrylic stamp  "4My Friends" collection. I embossed the circle with a Cuttlebug "Flowers & Leaves" folder.
Scallop - I cut the white circle  and laid it on top of an orange felt Doily by Studio 18.

Merry Monday

This week the sketch by Lori at http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/ is to create a card with a Nativity scene. I don't know how many card crafters out there save their old Christmas cards, but I have some that date back more years than I care to count. I love to repurpose some of them when making Christmas cards. Since I don't have any Nativity stamps, I found this challenge the perfect time to go digging through my old Christmas card stash and find one.
Here is my card:
Nativity Scene - Old Christmas card
Sentiment - I printed on my computer using the "Old English" font
Tag - Is a Spellbinder, I used ribbon to thread through it
Doves - Metal Brads by Recollection
Cardstock - Scraps from my Scrap Box.

B'Day card for Dad

Father's Day is almost here, but I decided to make a birthday card first. The base cardstock is from the DCWV "Industrial Chic" stack, these sheets are really think and make perfect base cards. The white panel is embossed with a CB "Wood Grain" folder, on the circle I used A Cuttlebug " Houndstooth" folder.  which I inked with the color "Terra". The sentiment and circles are printed and cut on the Explore. I added a cord embellishment and metal Brads.

Mojo Monday

Love the simple sketch Julee at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ provided for us this week. I always have a short supply of Children's birthday cards and I thought I would make a card for a little guy.
I used scraps to make most of the card, except the base card paper is from Recollections "All Seasons" stack and the cute little guy in his "wheels" is from DearieDolls  stamps. The sentiment is computer-printed using a Mickey Mouse font. Instead of the circle on the sketch I used a  sparkly Birthday Party Hat.

Merry Monday Challenge

Over at http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/ Linda inspired us to make a Snow Globe card. Loved the chance to try another Shaker card, since I don't make them very often and they are always a challenge for me. I find that with each Shaker card I make I find new ways to go about it and I am getting quicker at making them.
*Snow Globe - Is a Cricut image cut on Explore
*Globe Scene - Is cut from an old Christmas card.
*I used a Shaker 3" circle mold and filled it with assorted items such as tiny beads, tiny gold stars, fluffy snow and clear sequins.
*Foil Cardstock -  From a very old all foil stack I have from American Crafts called "AC Specialty Paper". A very nice assortment of all colors of 12X12 sheets in it. I'm pretty sure when it runs out I will never find another again, I bought it on clearance, too.
*Sentiment - Old rubber stamp inked using Stazon Black ink. The tag is a Spellbinder with ribbon through it.
*Christmas Tree Branches - Cut using a Martha Stewart punch, and added a pearl to them.
Sorry about the photo, very hard to take a good one with all the reflective materials.

The Paper Players

Posting this card at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ Leanne has provided a clean and simple challenge---to limit the layers and embellishments of our creation---with a WILD THING theme!
I cut out the Lion from the Cricut "Animal Kingdom cartridge and wrote the sentiment and "Roar" on my Explore.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Had fun making Melissa's sketch at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/ this week . I found this little feller on line (isn't he so cute?). I downloaded the paw print paper and embossed with CB "Wire" folder. I used glitter pens on his ear, collar and dog dish and a black metallic pen on his "spots", though they appear more gray than black. I added small red gems to the doggie panel. I cut the matted banner on my Explore. The sentiment I printed on Word using the "Baby Muffins" font, The tag is a Spellbinder and I ran satin ribbon through it.

Mojo Monday

Today's sketch is from http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ by Julee Tilman. Simple card on which I scribbled three colors of green using Martha Stewart Arts & Crafts markers. The center panel is vellum paper and I used a punch by "ek" along the bottom and inked the panel all the way around. Sentiment is stamped with a rubber stamp using Stazon ink in "Pine". Used a button on the pre-made flower and added clear green buttons from my Buttons Jar.

The Paper Players

This card I made for this week at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/  . Nance has very cleverly provided us with the challenge of using a "BIKE" on our cards since May is National Bike Month.
I cut out the two large circles on my Explore and embossed half of the top circle with a Provo Craft "Clouds" embossing folder and inked them with a light blue ink pad, used a Stampin' Up mini grass stamp from the "Dreams & Dragons" set to stamp the bottom half. The bike is a cut from a Cricut cartridge and is layered in three sets, black, blue and red. Added silver brads to the tires and used an American Crafts black glitter marker on the seat, handle bars and pedal, which gives it a cool look (not very noticeable here). The sentiment I wrote and printed on my Explore.
