The Paper Players

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue
In honor of July 4th I used this nice sketch from http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ for this week.

*Blue Paper -  From "me&myBIGideas" 12X12 inch  #1 FAN stack
*Red Panel - The negative results after punching out sequins, they are available in all colors from    the SSAS remnant store in our city.
*Circles -  I cut a red foil and white circles with my 2.50" circle punch, embroider the white circle with a Cuttlebug "Stars" folder and added a flag embellishment.
*Sentiment -I triple matted the sentiment and used a freebie Verve stamp from this week at The Verve Blog.

Cardz4Guyz

Clean and Simple
I made this guy card for our CAS challenge at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ this week.
I used the plain white base card for the front and added three simple embellishments.
Sentiment - Is an old rubber stamp I have had for a very long time. I bought it at Michael's $1 bin back when they HAD a one dollar bin. I used Tsukineko Brilliance Dew Drops in "Platinum Planet" to stamp the sentiment.
Embossing -  Provo Craft Cuttlebug "Hounds Tooth" folder. The brads are metal silver triangles.
Ribbon - Gross-grain ribbon is in shades of gray and black by Offray.

Paper Piercing Card

Paper Piercing Card
This is my first time making a paper piercing card. I made this card using my trusty Tim Holtz ruler and it was quite simple to use. I have had my ruler since it came out and my dear sister-in-law, from "NanaDonna's Dream Cards" had told me to watch the video on this ruler...I never did, until I looked up a U-tube video on how to use my ruler for paper piercing. This ruler is quite a gadget, I never had noticed it had a metal edge for cutting paper, too!  Who knew!!?
*Background stripped pattern paper, the border and the matting is from the DCWV "Midnight Berry" stack.
*I embossed the circle with a Darice "Flowers & Vines" folder.
*The two pink cardstock papers are from my Scrap Box, sorry no names.
*Corners are a Fiskar corner punch.
*The sentiments are Verve Stamps from the "Wishing" collection.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Get Well
I love Dearie Dolls Digis, and  I am happy that this week we are to make a card featuring a Dearie Doll image at  http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.com/  Here is a Get Well card I though was perfect for those hard to make/find male cards.

Image - Dearie Doll digi.  The white circle is cut with a Spellbinders metal die, the blue circle is cut on Explore using glitter cardstock....a little sparkle to make the poor guy feel better, right!!?
Sentiments - Are Verve Stamps from the "Wishing You" acrylic stamp collection.
Pattern Base Paper - From the 6X6" stack "Paddywack" by Recollections
Added small  metal stick-on brads.

Finding Dory
This card is inspired by the theme at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ . Make a card inspired by a movie. The children's movie "Finding Dory" is so popular at this time...here is my card:
*Dory - Cricut cartridge image cut on Explore. I know Dory is a blue color, the one I used is a very pretty foil blue color, but it photographed too dark.
*Water Paper - Single sheet rack @ Michael's
*Seaweed - Cricut cut
*Sentiment - Computer-generated
*Ocean floor - real colored sand
*Fish Bowl - Is a Cricut cut which I used acetate to cut out off. I added the sequins since I didn't have any type of adhesive to attach fish bowl to Dory scene. Popped the bowl with 3-D tape for dimension.

Merry Monday

My Christmas card for this week at http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.ca/   that Bonnie has challenged us with. We are to use any or all of the words "Love, Joy and Peace".
I made mine by re-purposing an old card from years ago. I matted the image with gold foil cardstock and used a Fiskar corner punch. I fussy cut the holly from another single sheet pattern and added Ranger Crackle Accents to make them thicker and give then a glossy look. I then added red pearls for the "berries".

The Paper Players

Time to Celebrate!
The challenge at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ this week is to make a "Celebration" CAS themed card.  A celebration card is a fun card to make since it means it will be a FUN  & HAPPY time for the recipient!

Sentiment - I downloaded the image and filled all of it in with a Gelly Roll Pen in "Clear Star" to add sparkle to it. To the corners I added iridescent sequins to pick up all the colors in the image., and there you have it, clean and simple!!

Mojo Monday

Dad, you are...
This is a music inspired card I made using this week's sketch by Julee Tillman at Mojo Monday, and  is very fitting for Father's Day this coming Sunday.
Butterfly - Is a Martha Stewart punch, I cut out two butterflies and misted them with silver Pearl EX, glued the blue one flat onto the card base and the white one I bent up and added red. white and blue gems. The sheet music and Dad sentiment are computer-generated. The circle is a Spellbinder die which I embossed with a Provo Craft "Allegro" folder.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Kitty Kat
I made this card using this cute Kitty digi from Dearie Dolls.  I love these simple images and the creator Mary Ellen creates and shares her cute digis, check out her images here: http://freedeariedollsdigistamps.blogspot.com
I cut the Kitty using a Spellbinder and I also matted it with chipboard for depth. I used a clear  star Gelly Roll pen on the ears and on the pink bow for some sparkle, not very noticeable, though. The pattern papers are from Recollections 6"X6" "Paddywack" stack and the solid lime one is regular cardstock. The ribbon is from an assorted collection pack from Michael's. The heart shaped buttons are from my Button jar...don't know the brand, sorry!

Snoopy and Woodstock

Gotta love this two fellers, you can't help but be happy when they and the rest of the gang are around. The whole gang is always able to celebrate any occasion with very little....as they say..."Less is More"!
This card I made using the sketch from Mojo Monday. I wanted to use this image so I flipped it for the image to fit better.
Image - Download from Internet. I used a Clear Glitter Gelly Roll pen on the show flakes, Snoopy's and Woodstock's hats, on the present, ornaments and treetop Star I used a gold Gelly pen.
Sentiments - Both written and cut on Explore.
Base Pattern - Single sheet rack from Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
The big snowball I misted with Pearl Mist in "Sparkle Gold". The snowball and sentiments are embossed with a "Stars" Cuttlebug folder.

Father's Day Card

Here is a Father's Day card I created by using the sketch from this week at Tuesday Morning:
All the papers are from the ColorBok 12X12 Signature "Wild Indigo" stack.  Love this stack because all the sheets are double -sided and are color-coordinated, it has contains patterns for either male or female. The sentiment panel is printed and cut on the Explore, as are the banners. The circle is a Cricut cartridge cut and the photo corner is a die cut from "My Little Paper World".
