Picture This...

I made this fun card using the sketch at the Feeling Sketchy Challenge for this week. I finally had the opportunity to use these cute magnetic frames I bought a long time ago. YAY!
* Pattern Paper -I started with plain yellow cardstock for the base and used this polka dotted paper from my single sheet box.
* Frames - From "Created By U". They are 35mm wooden magnetic frames that come in a pack of ten in assorted colors. I cut the letters "H" and "B" and the #2, from a sheet of ABC pattern paper and matted each frame. Then printed and cut out the "appy" ,"ierthday", and "YOU", on tan cardstock.
Balloons - Are stick-ons.

Follow Your Dreams

Tuesday Morning Sketch for this week, by Melissa Craig:
I will be right back!
Ok, I'm back...I was pressed for time...here goes:
I used Gold foil cardstock from the American Crafts "AC Specialty Paper" stack, for the base. The pink and the striped papers are from DCWV "Stack Nine".
I used Spellbinders to cut out a gold foil oval for matting, and a gold foil pre-printed sentiment from a cardstock sheet from the DCWV "Pocket Blossom" stack.
I used sheer ribbon for the bow and the pennants on the oval. Added pink pearls to the Oval top.

Hello!

Oh boy, busy week! Had my two teen-aged grandchildren over for three days straight...you know what that means...No computer for dear old Nana! So, I'm running a  bit late on my crafting. Happy that over at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ they have a very nice and simple sketch for this week. It was quick and fun to create and am very pleased with the way it turned out. Hope you like, too!
Pattern Cardstock - DCWV "Taj Mahal"premium stack.
Strip - I matted some sheer white satin lined ribbon on a strip of Bazzil textured cardstock.
Sentiment - Is an old rubber stamp from Michael's... "back-in-the-day, Dollar Bin. I used Black Stazon Stamp Ink.
Flowers - I used plain white cardstock to punch them out with a Recollections mini punch. Added tiny orange gems to the centers.

3-D Christmas Santa

OMG!! I completely forgot to post my Tuesday Morning Challenge #411 "Christmas in July" card at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.ca/! As I was clearing off my desk to work on my cards, there it was under some sheets of cardstock. I will go ahead and share it anyway even though the weekly challenge has already closed. Tuesday Morning is also celebrating it's birthday this month...Congrats again on eight great years of inspiration! Oh, I also don't want to miss out on the best part...we are getting the presents!
The Candy Cane paper is from a Christmas pack of assorted patterns that was gifted to me. The photo is a re-purposed old Christmas card that had this 3-D image on it, I hated to throw it away, so I gave it a new life. The reindeer in the back ground appear fuzzy because of it being in 3-D. All in all the image looks better than I thought it would appear. I used green satin ribbon and a Candy Cane embellishment. The typed and printed the sentiment and matted with green cardstock, and popped it with 3-D squares.

Fly Higher

This week at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/, Jen Mitchell has provided this fun square sketch for the challenge. I decided to combine it with the challenge for this week at https://qkrstampede.blogspot.com/ , which is "Up, Up, and Away". I have had these cute "Paper Kites" embellishment set by Recollections at Michael's for a while and think this kite would work perfect for the challenge.
Papers - Started with a basic white base card and matted it with light blue cardstock and a cloud pattern paper. I did the same with the center square with blue and white cardstock.
Kite -  Embellishment set by Recollections from Michael's Craft Store. I popped the kite with 3-D squares, for depth.
Clouds - Die cuts "Clouds" set of three sizes, by Cottage Kutz. I matted them all with chipboard and popped them with 3-D squares.
Sentiment - I found the sentiment on line..."True courage is like a kite; a contrary wind raises it higher", by John Petit-Sean. Typed using different font, printed it, and matted with cardstock.
Sorry, still having problems with my camera/computer posting my colors and clarity correct, Ugh!!!

Hearts

I made this card using this week's sketch at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.ca/ by Melissa Craig. It is a nice clean and simple design. I cut a piece of white cardstock and used a Recollections border punch across the bottom, then I added a heart pattern paper to the top of allowing the border design to show. Used a mini heart punch on the corners, adding small heart-shaped gems, I placed a pre-made heart-shaped Doily on top and added the assorted length of ribbons from a Martha Stewart ribbon set. The white heart is popped with 3-D squares, embossed with a Darice "Hearts" folder, and a red heart shaped gem center. All the hearts appear a dark red due to the lighting, but are a nice light red...like the one in the center of the heart.

Sail Away

Found these words of encouragement on-line and think it is perfect for the challenge this week at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ ...which is "By the Sea". It has such a calming effect for anyone going through some "rough waters" at the moment.
** Sketch -  Is from my collection of downloaded sketches by "My Favorite Things". Which I modified a little for this card.
**Image - Computer download, matted with gold and gray cardstock from my Scrap Box.
**Ocean Background - I looked under "images of ocean" for the background and found this image of a somewhat calm ocean, thought it was a nice choice.
**Strip - I just layered the two layers of cardstock and added triangle brads, which reminded me of the sails on the Sailboat.

Time to Relax

Summer is upon us and in Tucson, Arizona we don't have easy access to the ocean....we can only dream about it! But oh, how we can dream! I used this cute digi of a girl relaxing at the beach (lucky girl!) from Dearie Dolls Digis. Check out here site, http://freedeariedollsdigistamps.blogspot.com/. All of her Digis are free and she does a great job on them. Here is how I put my card together:
**All papers are plain cardstock from my Scrap Box
**Sky - Embossed with a Darice Clouds" folder.
**Waves - Is an "ek Success" border punch.
**"Sand" - Is embossed with a Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder. I added bling to some of the dots with a Gelly "Clear Star Glitter" pen to represent the "glittering sand".
** Girl Under Embrella - Is a Dearie Dolls Digi, cut out on my Explore and popped with Zots 3-D Dots. Again, I used a Gelly "Clear Star Glitter" pen to give bling to her glasses, dots on her blanket, and hairbow.
**Sun - Is a Cricut cartridge image . I cut out two images and off-set them to get more points around the sun, also popped for 3-D effect.
**Seagull and Sentiment - Seagull is a computer download, I fuzzy cut and popped. Sentiment is computer-printed in Navy Blue ink and matted.

Cute As A Button

So many ideas in my head for this this week's sketch at http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.ca/.  It also requires that a die cut be included in the card. I went with a buttons die cut and the sentiment to fit it. I think it turned out very cute!
** Papers - All from my scrap Box, except for the top pattern cardstock it is from the DCWV "Pocket Blossom" stack.
** Embossing -  Cuttlebug "Spots & Dots" embossing folder.
** Buttons - Used a Sizzix "#5 Buttons" die cut to make the "buttons", using assorted scraps of pattern paper. Then matted them with chipboard, used embroidery thread for the bows, and used 3-D foam squares to pop them.
** Heart Borders - Is a Martha Stewart border punch.
** Sentiment - I wrote and printed it on my Explore.

Just for You

Ok Ladies...should I throw my camera or my printer out the window?? All my base card colors on my cards always photograph either very dark or light at the top and bottom, as you can see on this PURPLE base card color. It is not an ombre shade from top to bottom...WHY!?? Uuuuuuuuuugh!!
Anyhow, here goes:
**Blue Floral Pattern Cardstock - DCWV "Pocket Blossom" stack.
**Gray cardstock - I embossed with CuttleBug "Chicken Wire" folder.
**Flower - Is from my assorted flower box collection, I'm pretty sure they are Recollections from Michael's. I added a jewel-tone brad to the center. It looks like it is made from some kind of mirror material, it is clear like a diamond gem.
**Tag - Is a Cricut cartridge cut. I wrote, printed and cut it all out on my Explore. I cut the tag from the same Floral pattern cardstock, and added a silver Brad.
** Gray Strip - I embossed with a Darice "Large Petal" folder.
** Ribbon - From Michael's, I double-wound it around the gray panel.

July 4th Birthday

Once in a while someone will ask for a "July 4th Birthday" card, and they are not easy to find at card counters. I had a challenge to make a card using stars and decided to make a July 4th birthday card. Although I did not include any fireworks on this card, I still hope the recipient will get a big "Bang" out of it.
Star/Stripe Paper - Computer-download, matted on Navy cardstock.
Stars - Are pre-made foil stars in red, silver, and blue from"Stickos" by ek Success.
Frame and Sentiment - I wrote, printed, and cut on my Explore.
Embossing - Is hard to see on the white panel. I used a Darice "Stars" folder.
